UNITED STATES BANKRUPTCY COURT
District of Kansas
104 U. S. Courthouse
401 N. Market
MEMORANDUM
Date: October 24, 2000
To: All Practitioners
From: Hon. Robert E. Nugent
Subject: Judge Nugent's Topeka and Kansas City Cases
Effective immediately, counsel filing motions and other matters in Topeka and Kansas City cases which are assigned to me should file those matters in the division courts where the cases are currently pending. Please note that section 7(D) of the Wichita Motions Docket Guidelines has been modified to reflect this change in procedure.
All such matters should be scheduled and noticed to Judge Robinson's docket and Judge Robinson will conduct the first hearing on those matters. Those matters not resolved on first hearing will be set to a pretrial conference before me. I will review the matters prior to Judge Robinson's docket and confer with her regarding the appropriateness of scheduling them to pretrial or evidentiary hearing.
Should counsel believe a particular matter requires my immediate attention, requests for a special setting or for a hearing before me on Topeka or Kansas City docket day should be made in the first instance to a Topeka or Kansas City deputy. The deputies will, in turn, contact me and make the appropriate arrangements. I appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you have questions concerning this change in procedure, please contact the deputies in the applicable division.
