Linking Documents     Modified 03/01/2004

 

OVERVIEW

 

Some pleadings MUST  be ”linked” to their related documents in the case.  Failure to properly link documents could result in those documents not being available to the judge at the time of hearing.  It is imperative that related documents be linked.

 

PROCEDURE

 

An "event" in ECF is anything that has been filed in a case.

 

        1. Once you have browsed, verified and uploaded your document you will be prompted with the following check box:

 

Refer to existing event(s)?

 

        1. Click the check box to select

        2. Select the category to which your event relates

          • Chose the type of event that the current event you are docketing relates to  

        3. Select the appropriate event(s) to which your event relates

          • Check to box next to the event(s)

        4. Enter any additional information that is requested (varies depending on event)

        5. Modify docket text as appropriate

 

WARNING: Verify filing entry information is correct before submitting the Final Docket Text.
